I actually added Butter a while ago after your longer review, and now I've added Convenience Store Woman and Diary of a Void. I'm also interested in Lucy Webster's book - I read a post or article of hers the other day (I might be getting Substack and more traditional media mixed up).
Well done on 4,000 subscribers, that's incredible! 😁
Butter is a fantastic read, albeit quite rich (all puns intended), so you have to have the headspace for it.
Those are both great additions, and I’m actually publishing my review of Diary of a Void this week! Lucy’s memoir is fantastic and I highly recommend. She does have a Substack (hi @Lucy Webster!) and publishes lots in traditional media, so both are possible.
Thanks very much Daniel! You’re one of the very first friends I made here on Substack, and I appreciate your support.
It has indeed flown by! It’s odd thinking about time. 4 months is so brief in some ways, but also long in others. In this context, it’s just been a little while.
Congratulations on 4k subs Alicia! So well deserved 🩷
Some fabulous recs here - I loved Butter, and I Who Have Never Known Men was one of my favourite reads of last year. My book club did Memoir May in 2024 and Educated was one of the most-read books for that month, it sounded like an incredible story.
Saving this to treat it as a shopping list once I've got through my current TBR! Lots on my wishlist from here already too <3
Thank you! These seem joyful
Congrats on 4k subscribers! That’s huge! Love this roundup!
Thanks Caroline, and I’m glad you enjoyed my book roundup!
Do love a book list and congrats on the 4k! Pinned this for you to maybe bring in more... have a great day!
Thanks so much Christie, and I’m glad you enjoyed the book list! Hope you have a lovely day too. :)
My TBR list is a bit bigger now - thanks a lot! 😂

Ha! You’re very welcome. ;)

I always appreciate good buns puns, the richer the better!
I shall look forward to your Diary of a Void review and will be checking out more of Lucy’s work.
I remember when you started out, it really wasn’t that long ago (time flies and all that, right?) ☺️
Hahaha homonyms are great too!
Thank you—my review will be out this Friday.

Great list. My TBR is bigger now
Thank you! I'm glad this list brought you more books. :)
What a great list - a few I’ve read, some from my TBR and lots of new books to discover!
Ooh which ones have you read, Simi?
Elinor Oliphant and Convenience Store Woman!
Really enjoyed them both!
Those are such cool books! What did you think about them?
Just the kind of reads I'm looking for right now! Going to have a lot more to read on my downtime now ☺️
Yay!! I'm so glad this list found you. :) Do let me know what you think of the books when you read them!
Those are such good books!
